Krista Botsford will be giving the latest updates on the EU's RoHS Recast at a free forum during the event. She will be part of an industry panel discussing how the changes to environmental compliance will impact the PBC and other segments of the electronics industry. Krista Botsford presented the latest installment of "Death, Taxes, and Eco-compliance to a packed venue at SEMI's 2010 Strategic Materials Conference. Her presentation gave a brief overview of the current happenings within product eco-compliance. The remaining time covered the best practices and latest lessons learned in the quest for sustaining product environmental compliance. Though not speaking, Krista Botsford did attend the Lead Free forum during 2009 SMTA International in San Diego, CA. While in attendance at the conference, an informal session around updates to the legislation materialized. Botsford was instrumental in facilitating this informal meeting. The 2010 organizing committee has been approached to include a formal session.
Botsford EcoTech Partners continued its tradition of sponsoring the AeA/TechAmerica roadshow event in Boston. The event was again held at Philips Medical. Distinguished speakers from around the world gave presentations on the latest eco-compliance information. Among the presenters, Krista Botsford delivered a presentation on the lessons learned and best practices for companies to follow in their eco-compliance activities.
Founder Krista Botsford presented two papers at the SMTA Pan Pacific Conference in Kona, HI. The first paper, Eco-Compliance - Who, What, When, Where and Why, outlines the basics of eco-compliance and strategies for complying with existing and emerging legislation. The second paper, Data Storage System Design: Best Practices from Industry (Focusing on RoHS-Type Legislation), outlines best practices for data management for compliance with legislation for restricting hazardous substances in electronics and electrical equipment.
